Yesterday I booked my ticket to London for the big move, July 16th at 10:00pm I will be on an American Airlines plane. It's so exciting and kind of scary all at the same time. I can't believe how real it is all becoming now. Almost a year ago I decided I was going to make this move and it seemed like a lifetime away and now I am less than a month away from it all happening. My mother was the best, she let me use some of her frequent flyer miles and I paid all of $26.50 for my one way ticket...ahh a one way ticket, this is nuts!
The other exciting news I have is that I finally have a place to live! It's a really weird situation...as you know when I was in London a few weeks ago I met with 3 different people and I emailed 2 of them back. I never ended up hearing back from the girl Laura in Highbury and got a really sweet email from Tom in Battersea saying he was sorry but he offered the place to someone else before me. Well, I got an email from Tom on Friday and in the email he told me that the guy he had offered the place to dropped out. I quickly responded back saying that if he would have me I would love to be the person to take the room. It's so weird how it has all worked out. I am really excited about it. It takes off so much pressure knowing that I have a place to live and that I have met this guy. It's also a great relied that I am not taking a chance on a complete stranger that I've never met before. I honestly believe that everything happens for a reason and it's so weird how this happened. I couldn't be more excited about this!

Still on the Hunt
I got back from London on Sunday exhausted and elated...but still without a place to live. I went and looked at 3 different flats while I was there, 1 in Battersea with an English guy, 1 in Hackney with an English girl who is a speech therapist and 1 in Highbury with an English girl who is a nurse. Out of the 3 flats I loved the guy the most as a flatmate and his flat came in second of the 3, I loved the flat in Highbury the most but the girl was very reserved and I like the girl in Hackney second best but the area the flat was in left quite a lot to be desired. I emailed Laura (the Highbury girl) and Tom (Battersea) and heard back from both of them. Laura was still showing the flat and said she would get back to me, I tried to follow up with her yesterday but got no response. Tom sent me the nicest email telling me he was so sorry but someone else got back to him sooner and he offered the place to him. I was really disappointed but he couldn't have put it nicer...and his friend was really upset that he didn't chose me to live with :) So I am still on the lookout for a place but its going to be hard now since I am not going to be going back again until I move.
I do have a potential place *fingers crossed* as I met Shailen through my friend Michael last weekend when I went to the Epsom Derby for Shailen's birthday and I was chatting with him on Facebook the day after I got back. He was telling me that he has a friend, who coincidently I met at the races that days, who is moving into a flat in Euston and has a spare room. Honestly this flat couldn't be in a better location in Central London right near Regent's Park and it's in my budget. The only thing is, this friend Oliver, can't guarantee it right now so I have to get in touch with him again closer to the time of me coming over. I'm praying this works out b/c I have already met Oliver and I wouldn't have to worry about moving into a place where I have only emailed the person back and forth. Im kind of freaking out a little, I know it will all work out as it's supposed to but I would feel so much better knowing I had a place to live.
Right now I am up to my elbows in boxes. I move out of my apartment in Astoria on June 15th and I have to pack everything up. I can't seem to figure out how I have so much stuff and where I've kept it all. On Tuesday I will be packing up a UHaul and moving back to Massachusetts for about a month until I leave for London. I have to get my ticket soon too! I can't believe it's all coming to an end in just a few days. Tomorrow I am having a going away party so I can see all my friends in NYC before I head out. I'm looking forward to it, but it's very bittersweet.
Ok, back to packing!
